Level 2 Award in Brazing Techniques for refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump systems.
This is an industrial qualification with no renew dates (you do not have to renew your certification in three years). This is a 1 day course for up to 3 candidates and is a two part assessment.
Unit 231 is an underpinning knowledge written test with multi choice answers over 35 questions with a successful pass of 24 or more answers been correct. This is a paper written test with one hours duration allowed.
Unit 531 this is a practical skills of brazing together of a test frame work of dis-similar metals i.e. copper to steel, consisting of joints and bends and pressure testing methods. All drawings are provided.
Part 2 of the practical skills is the flame brazing jointing of 1 3/8 inch copper to copper.
Part 3 is 1 3/8 inch copper into schedule 80 steel. All drawings are provided.
You will be assessed not only by the finished product but on correct used of oxy-acetylene. Full training is provided for this course and you will be required to provide your own overalls and footwear.
